Today, people don’t understand that this is how men bought suiting before 1960. There was no off-the-rack menswear. It was made for you like this and you paid a premium for it (although back then there were no OTR prices to compare to). However, it was perfect in both fit and quality, and would last you as long as you took care of it (and stayed in a similar shape).
